A strong international training period was recently completed at the Young Lions Dojo in Seychelles, where dedicated Uchideshi participants underwent an intensive program focused on technical refinement, physical conditioning, and mental development.
The Chinese duo, Sensei Xiao Zheng and Sempai Rachel Bai from Hangzhou, made their third visit to Seychelles this year for a three-week Uchideshi training program. Their stay featured three daily training sessions with a strong emphasis on Kihon, Ido Geiko, Renraku, and Kata.
With Sensei Zheng preparing for the highly demanding 30-Man Fight during this visit, training was intensified with focus on physical and mental conditioning, sabaki, avoidance techniques, and practical fighting applications. In addition, preparation was also aligned toward his upcoming Yondan grading, ensuring both technical precision and endurance readiness were addressed throughout the program.
Joining them was Sempai Nitish Jhurgasingh from Mauritius, who completed a two-week Uchideshi training period and fully participated in the same structured daily sessions alongside the Chinese practitioners.
All three Uchideshi also took part in a four-day intensive training camp held on Praslin Island, where the focus remained on strengthening fundamentals, enhancing fighting spirit, and applying dojo training under more demanding environmental conditions.
The program further reinforced the commitment of international karateka to continuous improvement, discipline, and high-level preparation within the KyokushinRyu training system.
