The International Karate Alliance KyokushinRyu (IKAK) proudly shares updates from Ukraine regarding the recently concluded Dnipropetrovsk Regional Championship.
The tournament was held in the city of Dnipro, bringing together athletes from multiple regions across Ukraine. Despite ongoing challenges, the event successfully showcased the discipline, strength, and competitive spirit of Kyokushin practitioners.
Among the highlights of the competition was the outstanding performance of Rudolf Gilderman, who secured 1st place in the prestigious 90+ kg weight category. His achievement reflects the high level of preparation and commitment within the IKAK Ukraine community.
The competition was officiated by Chief Judge Sensei Zokirzhon Ataev, ensuring a high standard of fairness and professionalism. The successful organization of the tournament was made possible through the collective efforts of dedicated officials and members, including Sempai Zagaykevich, Sensei Oleg Lesyk, Sensei Ataev, Sensei Chaika, Sensei Melikyan, Sempai Dushin, and Sempai Gilderman.
Sensei Oleg Lesyk, who serves as both Branch Chief and Country Director of IKAK Ukraine, has also been actively leading development efforts across the region. Prior to the championship, a training camp was conducted to prepare athletes for competition.
Further strengthening the organization, visits were carried out to IKAK clubs in Kyiv and the surrounding region, as well as in Ternopil. During the visit to Ternopil, recognition was given to the contributions of the late Armed Forces officer, Senpai Hrushchak, who had been actively involved in training and development in the area.
In addition, the event was honored by the presence of the military orchestra of Operational Command East, adding a meaningful and ceremonial atmosphere to the ุงูุจุทููุฉ. Special appreciation is extended to the orchestra and its leader for their support.
Looking ahead, IKAK Ukraine is planning to hold the Ukrainian National Championship around October. The final venue remains under consideration and will depend on the current conditions in the regions.
